Prato (pronunția italiană: (listen), pronunția locală:) este un oraș și comune în Toscana, Italia, capitala provinciei Prato. Orașul se află la poalele Monte Retaia, la o altitudine de 768 de metri (2,520 ft), ultimul vârf din lanțul Calvana. Cea mai mică înălțime în comun este de 32 de metri (105 ft), în apropiere de Cascine di Tavola, iar cea mai înaltă este vârful Monte Cantagrillo la 818 de metri (2,684 ft). Râul Bisenzio, un afluent al lui Arno, trece prin el. Istoric, economia Prato sa bazat pe industria textilă. Renumitele arhive Datini reprezintă o colecție semnificativă de documente târzii medievale privind istoria economică și comercială, produsă între 1363 și 1410. Muzeul textil reflectă și această istorie. Prato este, de asemenea, un centru al mișcării lente a alimentelor, cu multe specialități locale, inclusiv cantucci, un tip de biscotți, vânduți de brutari specialiști locali.
