Codul QR
Codul QR este marcă comercială pentru un tip de cod de bare matrice conceput inițial pentru industria de automobile din Japonia. Un cod de bare este o etichetă optică care poate fi citită de mașină și care conține informații despre elementul la care este atașat. Un cod QR utilizează patru moduri de codare standardizate pentru stocarea eficientă a datelor; pot fi utilizate și extensii. Sistemul QR Code a devenit popular în afara industriei auto datorită lizibilității sale rapide și a capacității de stocare mai mari comparativ cu codurile de bare standard UPC. Aplicațiile includ urmărirea produselor, identificarea elementelor, urmărirea timpului, gestionarea documentelor, marketingul general și multe altele. Un cod QR este alcătuit din module negre aranjate într-o rețea pătrată pe un fundal alb, care poate fi citită de un dispozitiv de prelucrare a imaginilor și procesată folosind corecția de eroare Reed-Solomon până când imaginea poate fi interpretată corespunzător. Datele necesare sunt apoi extrase din modelele prezente în componentele orizontale și verticale ale imaginii.
