Dermatofitoza este o afecțiune clinică cauzată de infecția fungică a pielii la oameni, animale de companie cum ar fi pisicile și animale domestice, cum ar fi oile și bovinele. Termenul "ringworm", folosit în mod obișnuit pentru a se referi la astfel de infecții, este un termen defectuos, deoarece boala este cauzată de ciuperci ale mai multor specii diferite și nu de viermi paraziți.
