Legea salică
Legea lui Salic, sau Legea lui Salian, a fost corpul major al legii franceze care guvernează toți francezii din Frankia, sub domnia împăraților săi în timpul perioadei vechi franc, în Evul Mediu timpuriu. Legile au fost păstrate în formă scrisă în limba latină de către un comitet împuternicit de monarh. Zeci de manuscrise date din secolul al VIII-lea ale unei revizuiri originale presupuse în secolul al VI-lea și trei modificări până în secolul al IX-lea au supraviețuit. Legea lui Salic prevedea codificarea scrisă a dreptului civil, cum ar fi statutul care guvernează moștenirea și dreptul penal, cum ar fi pedeapsa pentru omor. A avut o influență formativă asupra tradiției legii statutului, care sa extins și în epoca modernă în Europa Centrală, mai ales în statele germane, Franța, Belgia, Olanda, părți din Italia, Austria și Ungaria, România și Balcani.
