Secretarul sau Secretarul Bird este o pasăre foarte mare, cea mai mare parte terestră de pradă. Endemic în Africa, se găsește de obicei în pășunile deschise și în savana din regiunea subsahariană. Deși un membru al ordinului Accipitriformes, care cuprinde și mulți alți rapitori diurniști, cum ar fi zmeii, vierii, vulturii și harrierii, i se dă propria familie, Sagittariidae. Apare pe stema Sudanului și a Africii de Sud.

The Secretarybird or Secretary Bird is a very large, mostly terrestrial bird of prey. Endemic to Africa, it is usually found in the open grasslands and savannah of the sub-Saharan region. Although a member of the order Accipitriformes, which also includes many other diurnal raptors such as kites, buzzards, vultures, and harriers, it is given its own family, Sagittariidae. It appears on the coats of arms of Sudan and South Africa.
