Un sensorium este suma percepției organismului, "scaunul senzației", în care trăiește și interpretează mediile în care trăiește. Termenul a intrat inițial în limba engleză din Latinul târziu la mijlocul secolului al XVII-lea, din sensul tulpinii. În utilizarea anterioară, ea a făcut referire, într-un sens mai larg, la creier ca la organul minții. În discursul medical, psihologic și fiziologic a ajuns să se refere la caracterul total al mediilor senzoriale unice și în schimbare percepute de indivizi. Acestea includ senzația, percepția și interpretarea informațiilor despre lumea din jurul nostru prin utilizarea facultăților minții, cum ar fi simțurile, percepția fenomenală și psihologică, cunoașterea și inteligența.
