Stuttering, cunoscută și sub numele de stommering, este o tulburare de vorbire în care fluxul de vorbire este întrerupt prin repetări involuntare și prelungiri ale sunetelor, silabelor, cuvintelor sau fracturilor, precum și pauze sau blocuri involuntare silențioase în care persoana care stutter nu este capabilă să producă sunete. Blocurile și prelungirile sunt mecanisme învățate pentru a masca repetarea, deoarece teama de a vorbi repetat în public este adesea principala cauză a neliniștii psihologice.
