În logica matematică, o substructură sau subalgebra este o structură al cărei domeniu este un subset al unei structuri mai mari și ale cărui funcții și relații sunt urme ale funcțiilor și relațiilor structurii mai mari. Câteva exemple de subalgebre sunt subgrupe, submonoide, sublinguri, subalgere, subalgebre ale algebrelor pe un câmp sau subgrafe induse. Schimbând punctul de vedere, structura mai mare se numește extensie sau suprastructură a substructurii sale. În teoria modelului, termenul "submodel" este adesea folosit ca sinonim pentru substructură, mai ales atunci când contextul sugerează o teorie a căreia ambele structuri sunt modele. În prezența relațiilor poate avea sens să relaxeze condițiile unei subalgebre, astfel încât relațiile pe o substructură slabă sunt cel mult cele induse de structura mai mare. Subgraful este un exemplu în care distincția contează, iar termenul "subgraf" se referă într-adevăr la substructuri slabe.
