Împrejurimile sunt zona din jurul unui anumit punct sau loc fizic sau geografic. Definiția exactă depinde de câmp. Împrejurimile pot fi folosite și în geografie și matematică, precum și în filosofie, cu definiția literală sau metaforic extinsă. În termodinamică, termenul este folosit într-un sens mai restrâns, ceea ce înseamnă totul în afara sistemului termodinamic. Adesea, ipotezele simplificatoare sunt că energia și materia se pot mișca liber în împrejurimi și că împrejurimile au o compoziție uniformă.
