Un turbocompresor sau turbo, din latina "turbo", este un dispozitiv de inducție forțată prin turbină care mărește eficiența și puterea motorului, forțând aer suplimentar în camera de ardere. Această îmbunătățire față de o ieșire a motorului aspirat natural rezultă din cauza faptului că turbina poate forța mai mult aer și mai mult combustibil în camera de ardere decât presiunea atmosferică. Turbocompresoarele au fost inițial cunoscute sub denumirea de turbocompresoare, când toate dispozitivele de inducție forțată au fost clasificate drept compresoare. În prezent, termenul "compresor" este aplicat de obicei numai dispozitivelor de inducție forțată acționate mecanic.
