Un proiect la cheie sau la cheie este un tip de proiect care este construit astfel încât să poată fi vândut fiecărui cumpărător ca produs finalizat. Acest lucru este în contrast cu construirea la comandă, în cazul în care constructorul construiește un articol conform specificațiilor exacte ale cumpărătorului sau atunci când se vând un produs incomplet, presupunând că acesta ar fi finalizat. Un proiect la cheie sau un contract așa cum este descris de Duncan Wallace este: .... un contract în care proiectul esențial provine din sau este furnizat de către contractant și nu de proprietar, astfel încât responsabilitatea juridică pentru proiectarea, adecvarea și executarea lucrării după finalizare va fi făcută să se odihnească ... la contractant .... Termenul "la cheie" este considerat ca semnificând pur și simplu responsabilitatea de proiectare ca fiind contractantul.
