Hafn

Hafn - element chimic, metal de tranziție. Numele provine de la numele latin al Copenhaga "Hafnia", unde a fost descoperit. György von Hevesy din Ungaria și Dirk Coster din Olanda. A fost descoperit în 1923. Hafn se găsește în natură întotdeauna cu un zircon chimic foarte asemănător. Prin urmare, este aproape imposibil să se izoleze un eșantion de un element fără celălalt. Conținând 2% hafniu de zirconiu este considerat foarte curat, se aplică toleranța similară la zirconiu. Hafn este prezent în crusta pământului la o viteză de 5,3 ppm. Jego najważniejszym minerałem jest alwit SiO4∙xH2O. Węglik hafnu HfC ma bardzo wysoką temperaturę topnienia, powyżej 3890 °C, a stop węgliku hafnu i węgliku tantalu ma jedną z najwyższych znanych temperatur topnienia: 4215 °C.
