Thor - unul dintre principalii zei ai dinastiei nordici Aces, echivalentul południowogermańskiego donar. Od jego imienia pochodzi nazwa czwartku w języku norweskim, duńskim, szwedzkim, farerskim fińskim, holenderskim, niemieckim i staroangielskim oraz współczesnym angielskim = 'dzień Thora'.
