Siyasi bağlamda tazminat, çatışmadan kaçınmak için bir düşman iktidarına politik veya maddi imtiyazlar kazandırmanın diplomatik bir politikasıdır. Bu terim, çoğunlukla 1937-1939 yılları arasında Nazi Almanyasına yönelik İngiltere Başbakanı Neville Chamberlain'in dış politikasına uygulanır. Almanya'yla savaştan kaçınma politikaları yetmiş yıldır akademisyenler, politikacılar ve diplomatlar arasında yoğun tartışmalara konu olmuştur.
