Basit bir göz, tek bir lens içeren göz formunun veya optik düzenlemenin tipini belirtir. Bir "basit göz", çok mercekli "bileşik göz" ten farklı olarak adlandırılır ve kelimenin normal anlamıyla mutlaka basit değildir. İnsanın ve büyük hayvanların gözleri ve kamera lensleri "basit" olarak sınıflandırılır, çünkü her iki durumda da tek bir lens retina veya film üzerine ışık toplar ve odaklanır.
