PREACH SÖZCÜĞÜ İNGILIZCE DİLİNDE NE ANLAMA GELİR?

Bir vaaz peygamber ya da din adamının mütalaasıdır. Vaazlar, geçmişteki ve şimdiki bağlamlarda genellikle bir çeşit inanç, hukuk veya davranış üzerinde anlatılan İncil, teolojik, dini veya ahlaki konuyu ele alır. Vaaz unsurları arasında fuar, övünme ve pratik uygulama yer alır. Hıristiyanlıkta, çoğunlukla bir kürsü veya ambo, yüksek bir mimari özellik olan bir vaaz, ibadet yerinde teslim edilmektedir. "Vaaz" sözcüğü, Eski Fransız teriminden türetilmiş, sırasıyla Latince sermo sözcüğünden gelen Orta İngilizce bir sözcükten gelmektedir. Bazıları kelimeyi "birlikte katılma" anlamına gelen Latince "serere" sözcüğüyle ilişkilendirir, ancak bu bir azınlık görüşündedir. Sözcük "konuşma" anlamına gelebilir; bu, erken vaazların soru-cevap şeklinde verildiğini ve daha sonradan bir monolog anlamına geldiği anlamına gelebilir.
