Söz vermek
Bir söz, birinin yapması veya yapması gereken bir taahhüttür. Bir isim sözü, birinin yapacağı ya da yapmayacağına dair bir bildirim anlamına gelir. Bir fiil olarak, yapmak veya vermek için söz vermiş demektir. Aynı zamanda, yakın gelecekte gerçekleştirilecek bir değere benzer iyi bir kapasite anlamına gelebilir. Sözleşme kanununda, Latince maxim pacta sunt servanda göre, sözlerin yerine getirilmesi genellikle yasal olarak uygulanabilir olarak yapılır.
