Підвісний міст
Підвісний міст є типом мосту, в якому колода підвішена під підвісні кабелі на вертикальних підвісках. За межами Тибету і Бутану, де перші приклади такого типу міст були побудовані в 15 столітті, цей тип мосту датується початком 19 століття. Мости без вертикальних підвісків мають давню історію у багатьох гірських частинах світу. Цей тип мосту має кабелі, підвішені між вежами, плюс вертикальні підвісні кабелі, що несуть вагу колоди нижче, на якій проходить трафік. Таке розташування дозволяє колоду бути рівною або догори для додаткового оформлення. Як і інші типи підвісних мостів, цей тип часто будується без фальсифікації. Кабельні підвіски повинні бути закріплені на кожному кінці мосту, оскільки будь-яке навантаження, що наноситься на міст, перетворюється на напругу у цих основних кабелях. Основні кабелі продовжують виступати за стійки до рівнів на рівні колоди, а далі продовжують зв'язки з анкерами на землі. Проїжджу частину підтримують вертикальні підвісні кабелі або прутки, називані вішалки.
