Alidade
Eine Alidade oder ein Wendebrett ist ein Gerät, das es erlaubt, ein Fernobjekt zu sehen und die Sichtlinie zu benutzen, um eine Aufgabe auszuführen. Diese Aufgabe kann beispielsweise sein, eine Linie auf einer ebenen Tabelle in Richtung des Objekts zu zeichnen oder den Winkel zu dem Objekt von irgendeinem Bezugspunkt zu messen. Die gemessenen Winkel können horizontal, vertikal oder in beliebiger Ebene liegen. Die primäre Verwendung der Alidade ist die Erstellung von Karten in der horizontalen Ebene. Die Alidade war ursprünglich ein Teil vieler Arten von wissenschaftlichem und astronomischem Instrument. Zu einer Zeit wurden einige Alidaden, besonders jene, die auf abgestuften Kreisen wie bei Astrolabern verwendet wurden, auch Dioptrien genannt. Mit moderner Technik wird der Name auf komplette Instrumente wie die Flugtisch-Alidade angewendet.
