Allegorie ist ein rhetorisches Gerät, in dem Charaktere oder Ereignisse in einer literarischen, visuellen oder musikalischen Kunstform Ideen und Konzepte darstellen oder symbolisieren. Allegorie wurde in den Geschichten aller Kunstformen weit verbreitet; Ein wichtiger Grund dafür ist seine unermessliche Kraft, komplexe Ideen und Konzepte in einer Weise darzustellen, die für ihre Zuschauer, Leser oder Zuhörer leicht verdaulich und greifbar ist. Eine Allegorie vermittelt ihre verborgene Botschaft durch symbolische Figuren, Handlungen, Bilder und / oder Ereignisse. Allegorie wird allgemein als eine Figur der Rhetorik behandelt; Eine rhetorische Allegorie ist eine demonstrative Form der Repräsentation, die eine andere Bedeutung als die Worte vermittelt, die gesprochen werden. Als literarisches Gerät ist eine Allegorie im allgemeinsten Sinne eine ausgedehnte Metapher. Eines der bekanntesten Beispiele ist "Allegorie der Höhle" von Platon. In dieser Allegorie gibt es eine Gruppe von Leuten, die an die Wand einer Höhle gelebt haben, die ihr ganzes Leben, eine leere Wand, Die Leute sehen Schatten an die Wand projiziert, indem sie vor einem Feuer hinter ihnen vorbeikommen und anfangen, diesen Schatten Formen zuzuschreiben. Nach der Allegorie sind die Schatten so nah wie die Gefangenen, um die Realität zu betrachten.
