Apposition
Apposition ist eine grammatikalische Konstruktion, in der zwei Elemente, in der Regel Nominalphrasen, nebeneinander gestellt werden, wobei ein Element dazu dient, das andere zu definieren oder zu modifizieren. Wenn dieses Gerät verwendet wird, werden die beiden Elemente in Apposition sein. Zum Beispiel, in der Phrase "mein Freund Alice", ist der Name "Alice" in Apposition zu "meinem Freund". Traditionell wurden Appositionen von ihrem lateinischen Namen appositio genannt, obwohl die englische Form jetzt häufiger verwendet wird. Es stammt aus dem Lateinischen: ad und positio. Apposition ist eine Redeweise des Schematyps und kommt oftmals zustande, wenn die Verben in unterstützenden Klauseln eliminiert werden, um kürzere beschreibende Phrasen zu erzeugen. Dies macht sie oft als Hyperbatone oder Figuren der Unordnung, weil sie den Fluss eines Satzes stören können. Zum Beispiel, in der Phrase: "Meine Frau, eine Krankenschwester durch Training, ..." ist es notwendig, vor der parenthetischen Modifikation "eine Krankenschwester durch Training" zu pausieren.
