Seligpreisungen
Im Christentum sind die Seligpreisungen die Lehren von Jesus, die "Gesegnet sind ..." beginnen und in den Evangelien von Matthäus und Lukas erscheinen. Der Begriff Seligkeit kommt aus dem lateinischen Substantiv beātitūdō was bedeutet "Glück". In der Vulgata, das Buch von Matthäus titelt diesen Abschnitt Beatitudines, und "Beatitudes" wurde von diesem Begriff anglisiert. Die Seligpreisungen beschreiben 10 Segen in der Bergpredigt in Matthäus. Jeder ist eine sprichwörtliche Proklamation, ohne Erzählung, "kryptisch, präzise und voller Sinn. Jeder enthält ein Thema, das ein großes biblisches Thema bildet". Vier von solchen "Segen" erscheinen auch in der Bergpredigt in Lukas, und es folgen vier Leiden, die den Segen spiegeln. Jede Beatitude besteht aus zwei Phrasen: die Bedingung und das Ergebnis. In fast jedem Fall ist der Zustand aus dem vertrauten alttestamentlichen Kontext, aber Jesus lehrt eine neue Interpretation. Gemeinsam präsentieren die Seligpreisungen einen neuen Satz christlicher Ideale, die sich auf einen Geist der Liebe und Demut konzentrieren, der sich in der Orientierung unterscheidet als die übliche Kraft und die Existenz. Sie widerhallen den höchsten Idealen der Lehren Jesu auf Barmherzigkeit, Spiritualität und Mitgefühl.
Definition von beatitude im Wörterbuch Englisch
Die Definition der Seligkeit im Wörterbuch ist höchste Seligkeit oder Glück. Andere Definition der Seligkeit ist ein Ehrentitel der östlichen christlichen Kirche, angewandt auf diejenigen von patriarchalischem Rang.
