Bracero Programm
Das Bracero-Programm war eine Reihe von Gesetzen und diplomatischen Vereinbarungen, die durch einen Austausch von diplomatischen Notizen zwischen den Vereinigten Staaten und Mexiko im August 1942 für die Einfuhr von Zeitarbeitskräften aus Mexiko in die Vereinigten Staaten eingeleitet wurden. Amerikanischer Präsident Franklin D. Roosevelt traf mit dem mexikanischen Präsidenten Manuel Ávila Camacho in Monterrey, Mexiko, um Mexiko als Teil der Alliierten im Zweiten Weltkrieg und das Bracero-Programm zu diskutieren. Nach Ablauf der ursprünglichen Vereinbarung im Jahre 1947 wurde das Programm in der Landwirtschaft unter einer Vielzahl von Gesetzen und Verwaltungsvereinbarungen bis zu seinem formellen Ende 1964 fortgesetzt.
