Die Didache oder die Lehre der Zwölf Apostel ist eine kurze frühchristliche Abhandlung, die von den meisten Gelehrten bis zum späten ersten oder frühen 2. Jahrhundert datiert wurde. Die erste Zeile dieser Abhandlung ist die "Lehre des Herrn an die Heiden durch die Zwölf Apostel". Der Text, dessen Teile der älteste überlieferte schriftliche Katechismus darstellen, hat drei Hauptabschnitte, die sich mit der christlichen Ethik, den Ritualen wie der Taufe und der Eucharistie beschäftigen Kirchenorganisation Es gilt als das erste Beispiel für das Genre der kirchlichen Orden. Die Arbeit wurde von einigen der Kirchenväter als Teil des Neuen Testaments betrachtet, aber als falsch oder nicht-kanonisch von anderen abgelehnt, schließlich nicht in den neutestamentlichen Kanon aufgenommen. Die äthiopisch-orthodoxe Kirche "breiterer Kanon" umfasst die Didascalia, ein Werk, das auf die Didache zurückgreift. Verloren seit Jahrhunderten, wurde ein griechisches Manuskript der Didache im Jahre 1873 von Philotheos Bryennios, Metropolitan von Nicomedia im Codex Hierosolymitanus wiederentdeckt. Eine lateinische Version der ersten fünf Kapitel wurde 1900 von J. Schlecht entdeckt.
