Eine Heide oder Heide ist ein Buschlandschaft, der vor allem bei frei entleerenden, unfruchtbaren, sauren Böden vorkommt und sich durch eine offene, wachsende, waldige Vegetation auszeichnet. Ausgedehnte Heidegemeinschaften finden sich auch im kalifornischen Chaparral, Neukaledonien, Zentralchile und an den Ufern des Mittelmeers. Neben diesen weitläufigen Heidegebieten findet man auch die Vegetationstypen in verstreuten Orten auf allen Kontinenten, außer der Antarktis.
