Giebel
Ein Giebel ist ein Element in der klassischen, neoklassischen und barocken Architektur und daraus abgeleitete Derivate, bestehend aus einem ursprünglich dreieckigen Giebel, der oberhalb der horizontalen Struktur des Gebälkers angeordnet ist und typischerweise von Säulen getragen wird. Das Tympanon oder das dreieckige Gebiet innerhalb des Giebels wurde oft mit einer Reliefskulptur verziert, die Szenen aus griechischer und römischer Mythologie oder allegorischen Figuren darstellte.
