Ummah
Ummah ist ein Wort und eine Phrase aus dem Arabischen, was "Gesellschaft" oder "Nation" bedeutet. Dieses Wort kommt von den Wörtern deines amma-yaummu, was bedeuten kann: "gehen", "konvergieren" oder "emulieren". Aus derselben Wurzel wird auch gebildet: ähm, was "Mutter" bedeutet, und Priester, was "Anführer" bedeutet. Gegenwärtig ist die Organisation der Islamischen Konferenz eine bedeutende internationale Organisation, deren Mitglieder Länder mit muslimischer Bevölkerung sind.
