Future

A future is a binding exchange agreement between two parties, a type of exchange-traded term transactions. Such a contract is characterized by the obligatory delivery or acceptance of a specific contract object in a certain quantity and quality at a fixed time in the future and a specific price already defined at the time of conclusion of the contract. This allows transparent trading, low trade costs and easy market access. Depending on the underlying, a distinction is made between financial futures contracts and commodity futures contracts. There are no costs in the form of premiums for the conclusion of a futures contract. Both buyers and sellers have equal rights and obligations. It is therefore not necessary to create a balance between the contracting parties. This is in contrast to options. Both contracting parties must, however, pay an advance payment. It is used as security and is also called "margin payment", "security margin" or "initial margin". It is only a fraction of the contract value - B.
