WHAT DOES IMMIGRATION MEAN IN GERMAN?

immigration

Individuals who leave their places of residence individually or in groups, in order to settle permanently or at least for a long time in other places, are called migrants. Commuters, tourists and other short-term stays are not included in the definition of migration, seasonal work migration is sometimes included. When people migrate across borders, they are called immigrants or immigrants from the perspective of the country they enter. Sociology usually refers to immigration as immigration. The number of immigrants worldwide is estimated at 190 million, but this is only 3% of the world's population. Migration is a significant change in a person's life and is associated with major, sometimes life-threatening risks, and often rips family associations and social structures. For this reason, migration usually takes place due to exceptional circumstances such as war, distress or persecution, and curiosity and the hope of economic improvement play a role in a presumably lower proportion.
