Kalathos
Kalathos, the lily-shaped working basket of the Greek women, made of different materials such as clay, wood, precious metal. It was used in various works. At the feasts of the Athenians, and especially those of the Demeter, Kalathus had a symbolic significance as a flower-basket of Persephone; Afterwards also the name of a similarly formed clay vessel and the cup-shaped capitals of the Corinthian column.

Wicker wicker basket reminiscent of a lily cup headdress, especially of the female Greek deities, is the centerpiece of the Corinthian capital.
