phytophag

herbivore

Pflanzenfresser

As primary consumers, herbivores are one of the groups into which ecology divides the consumers. They are faced, among other things, by the carnivores - these feed on herbivores and are therefore secondary consumers. In the case of large animals, the term "herbs" is used synonymously, but small-scale creatures are more often called phytophages.
