subito. Documents from libraries e.V. is an association and document delivery service of scientific libraries. It provides the user with copies of magazine essays or book excerpts and supports the loan of books. In contrast to interlibrary loan, the user is guaranteed to fulfill his / her request within three or one working day. Delivery is via libraries or directly to the end customer. It is ordered via WWW, delivered to end customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein and to libraries all over the world, either electronically, by fax or via the "classic" postal service. The prices depend, among other things, on the urgency and delivery route and start at five euros. For copyright reasons, the electronically transmitted copies may only be scanned copies of the paper version, but not digital copies from electronically accessible journals. After the entry into force of the "2. Korbes "on January 1, 2008, Subito was able to deliver documents in Germany only on the postal and fax lines.

subito. Dokumente aus Bibliotheken e.V. ist ein Verein und Dokumentenlieferdienst wissenschaftlicher Bibliotheken. Er liefert dem Benutzer Kopien von Zeitschriftenaufsätzen oder Buchauszügen und unterstützt die Ausleihe von Büchern. Im Unterschied zur Fernleihe wird dem Benutzer eine Erledigung seines Wunsches innerhalb von drei bzw. eines Arbeitstages garantiert. Die Lieferung erfolgt über Bibliotheken bzw. an den Endkunden direkt. Bestellt wird über WWW, geliefert wird an Endkunden in Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz und Liechtenstein und an Bibliotheken weltweit, je nach Wunsch elektronisch, per Fax oder über den „klassischen“ Postweg. Die Preise hängen unter anderem von Dringlichkeit und Lieferweg ab und beginnen bei fünf Euro. Aus urheberrechtlichen Gründen darf es sich bei den elektronisch zugesandten Kopien nur um eingescannte Kopien der Papierversion handeln, nicht jedoch um digitale Kopien aus elektronisch zugänglichen Journalen. Nach Inkrafttreten des „2. Korbes“ zum 1. Januar 2008 konnte Subito zunächst in Deutschland Dokumente grundsätzlich nur noch auf dem Post- und Faxwege liefern.
