In sports, dribbling refers to the maneuvering of a ball under the control of a single player in a given direction, whist avoiding defenders' attempts to prevent this occurring. Such control may be with the legs, hands, stick or swimming strokes. A successful dribble will bring the ball past defenders legally and create opportunities to score.
