WHAT DOES TAMBOUR MEAN IN ENGLISH?

Tambour

In classical architecture, a tambour is the inverted bell of the Corinthian capital around which are carved acanthus leaves for decoration. The term also applies to the wall of a circular structure, whether on the ground or raised aloft on pendentives and carrying a dome, and to the drum shaped segments of a column, which is built up in several courses.

Definition of tambour in the English dictionary

The first definition of tambour in the dictionary is the sloping buttress on one side of the receiver's end of the court. Other definition of tambour is a small round embroidery frame, consisting of two concentric hoops over which the fabric is stretched while being worked. Tambour is also embroidered work done on such a frame.
