Jaén
Jaén is a city and Spanish municipality of the autonomous community of Andalusia, capital of the homonymous province. It has the title of "Very Noble and Very Loyal City of Jaén, Guard and Defense of the Reynos of Castile" and is known like "capital of the Holy Kingdom". Account in 2012 with a population of 116 731 inhabitants according to the INE, which is approximately one-sixth of the population of the entire province. The city is located within the metropolitan area of Jaén of which it is head, and absorbs a third of the total population of the province of Jaén. Its surface area is 424.30 km². It is also the seat of the judicial party number 1 of the province and the diocese of the same name. It stands at the foot of the hill of Santa Catalina, with steep streets and steep slopes that define its urbanism, widening to the flat and wide areas of the new neighborhoods and boulevards. In its surroundings abound fertile agricultural land, and extensive olive groves that cover much of its term.
