Dacha

A dacha (Russian: дача (? · I)) is a country house, usually an urban family, which is used seasonally. It became fashionable among the Russian middle class since the late nineteenth century, which was reflected in The Cherry Garden, famous play by Anton Chéjov in 1904. Dacha of Boris Pasternak in Peredélkino. Generally small, even in some cases they are simple wooden huts that can only be used in the summer, when the intense cold of winter gives way. However, it can also be large houses, several floors and numerous amenities. In Russia there is a whole "culture of the dacha", since many people take it as a hobby, they take care of the cabins and their gardens. The orchard is a fundamental part of the dacha, where the urbanite implements the cultivation of healthy foods. In the former Soviet Union, the dacha was associated with the houses used by the high leaders of the Communist Party. At the beginning of the 21st century, about 30 million Russian citizens owned a dacha.
