Petunia

The genus Petunia comprises 18 South American species belonging to the Solanaceae family. They are annual plants of small size, that is to say, shrubs of 3 to 6 dm, with leaves elongated or rounded and slightly hairy. Flowering is abundant, non-stop from early spring to late autumn. The flowers can have any color except orange, are classified as odorless although the plant exhales a pleasant aroma and there are variegated varieties. This plant is characterized by being tubular, very pedunculated and solitary. They are widely used in gardening, given their variety of colors and their ease of cultivation and production. They are incredibly useful in tropical areas as their flowering time lasts all year round, and they do not possess a strong stalk or thorns in it, they are widely used for the ornamentation of recreation sites such as squares and parks.
