Strobilation or transverse scission is a form of asexual reproduction consisting of a spontaneous and transverse segmentation of the body. This phase of strobyl is observed in some cnidarians and helminths. This mode of reproduction is characterized by a high rate of progeny, which is of particular importance in parasites such as tapeworm. La strobilation ou scission transversale est une forme de reproduction asexuée consistant en une segmentation spontanée et transversale du corps. Cette phase de strobyle est observée chez certains cnidaires et les helminthes. Ce mode de reproduction est caractérisé par un débit élevé de descendants, ce qui a une importance particulière chez les parasites comme le ténia.
