का पौधा जो भारतवर्ष में हिमालय के पश्चिमोत्तर भाग अर्थात्
काश्मीर आदि प्रदेशों में भी पाया जाता है ।
विशेष—इसकी जड़ में से एक साथ ही कई डंठल निकलते हैं ।
पत्ते कोमल, रेशेदार, हाथ भर के लंबे, आध अंगुल चौड़े और
नोकदार होते हैं । फूलों के दल नीलापन लिए लाल, छोर पर
नुकीले और आध अंगुल चौड़े होते हैं । बीजकोश ५ या ६
अंगुल लंबे, छहपहले और चोंचदार होते हैं । हकीमी में इसके
फूल और पत्ते औषध के काम में आते हैं और गरम, रुखे तथा
कफ और वातनाशक माने जाते हैं । इसके पत्तों का रस सिर-
दर्द और आँख के रोगों में दिया जाता है । इसे शोभा के लिये
बगीचे में लगाते हैं । फारसी के शायर जीभ की उपमा इसके
दल से दिया करते हैं ।
