Um Qais 【Umm Qais】 A town in the northwestern part of Jordan. Located near the border with Israel, above the hill overlooking Golan Heights and Galilee Lake. It is regarded as a place where there was an ancient Greek, urban ruins of the Roman era and one of the decapolis (ten city agencies) appearing in the New Testament, Gadara. You can see theaters, sanctuaries, bath houses and other remains. Unmucic. ウム‐カイス【Umm Qais】 ヨルダン北西部の町。イスラエルとの国境近く、ゴラン高原とガリラヤ湖を望む丘の上に位置する。古代ギリシャ、ローマ時代の都市遺跡があり、新約聖書に登場するデカポリス（十都市連盟）の一つ、ガダラがあった場所とされる。劇場、聖堂、浴場などの遺構が見られる。ウンムカイス。
