Madri is a princess of Madras in the story of Mahabharata. She is the second wife of the emperor Poonu and the mother of Nakula and Sahdev is the mother of the Pandits. When Pandu is on a trip to Digvijay, Madhu's King, Shalya, puts forward Pondu's proposal of friendship rather than opposition, and accept your sister Maadi as his second wife. Being attracted to a man's form, Padla accepts Madhu as his wife.

माद्री ही महाभारतातील कथेमधील मद्र देशाची राजकन्या असते. ती कुरू सम्राट पांडूची द्वितीय पत्नी असते व नकुल व सहदेव या पाडूंपुत्रांची माता असते. पांडू जेव्हा दिग्विजयाच्या यात्रेवर निघालेला असतो त्यावेळेस मद्र देशाचा राजा शल्य विरोधाच्या ऍवजी मैत्रीचा प्रस्ताव पांडू पुढे ठेवतो व आपली बहीण माद्री हिला द्वितीय पत्नी म्हणून स्वीकारावे अशी विनंती करतो. माद्रीच्या रुपावर आकर्षीत होऊन पाडूं माद्रीला आपली पत्नी म्हणून स्वीकार करतो.
