Spinach
Spinach is a plant in a vegetable class. It is a lot of plants in Malaysia. There are two main types of spinach in Malaysia namely spinach and red spinach. Spinach is from Amaranthaceae family. He is rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin C and minerals such as iron, phosphorus, potassium, manganese and zinc. In Malaysia, spinach is planted for domestic market purposes and partly for export to Singapore and Brunei. Spinach is known in Malaysia and Indonesia as well as Amaranth, Amaranthine, Kulitis, Aopa, Phtii, Phakkhom-suan, Hom and Raudeen. Spinach is believed to have originated in Southeast Asia and is also present and spread to Central America and Africa but from a relatively different genus. Spinach is a very popular vegetable in Malaysia and Indonesia and is the top 10 most popular vegetables in terms of cultivation and use. There is an area of 4,180 hectares of spinach planted in Malaysia with a production of 45,140 metric tons in 2010. The main area for spinach cultivation in Malaysia is in the State of Johor followed by Selangor and Penang.
