Epidemiology
Epidemiology is a study of factors affecting the health and disability of a population and serves as the basis and logical intervention made for the benefit of public health and preventive medicine. It is considered a fundamental methodology for public health research, and it is particularly emphasized in evidence-based medicine to identify risk factors for a disease and to ensure optimum treatment approaches for clinical practice. In the study of infectious and non-infectious diseases, various epidemiologist's work from epidemiological investigations to research designs, data collection and analysis includes the development of statistical models to test hypotheses and documenting results to be sent to an equivalent review journal.
