PRONUNCIATION OF KATIB IN MALAY

katib

WHAT DOES KATIB MEAN IN MALAY?

Katib

Katib or scribe is the job of writing a book or writing with his own hands and helping the government keep an administrative record. The work that was formerly available in all literate cultures, was eventually set aside due to the progress of printing. This work involves the copying of books, including scriptures, or secretarial or administrative tasks such as accepting deeds or keeping records of business, judiciary and history on behalf of the king, nobility, place of worship and government. Later, this work expanded into civilian workers, journalists, accountants, clerks, and lawyers. In less-literate societies, street-level service is still needed.
