WHAT DOES MUFTI MEAN IN MALAY?
Mufti
Mufti is a scholar, figure or post that has been recognized and admired in a state or country, especially among his own masters to make important decisions on the religion of Islam, in particular the fatwa requested by the public. Therefore, the Mufti can be regarded as an Islamic religious adviser, which is also the pillar of the Islamic religion of a nation or state. Each Mufti usually has a call or a nickname before his name. The always-used title is "Sahibus Samahah" which means 'having tolerance'. This is because Mufti is well known for being equated with the person responsible for issuing any fatwa. And all the fatwa issued are based on the Quranic law, the Prophetic Hadith, Qiyas and Ijmak Ulama. Most cases involving human, indigenous and religious relations today are difficult to solve as cases arise only in these recent times and of course every Mufti needs to do an accurate assessment and tolerance to every law that will be issued according to environment and current situation.
