Danube
Danube - the second largest river in Europe. The river flows from west to east through many European countries, the largest of which are the Bavarian Highlands in Germany, the Pannonian Basin in Hungary and Wallachia in Romania. Its basin covers large areas of Central and South-Eastern Europe. The source is located in the Black Forest, 6 km north-west of the center of Furtwangen im Schwarzwald in south-western Germany, where the river Breg originated. There is a metal plate on the stone, indicating that it is the source of the Danube. The town of Donaueschingen, sometimes called the Breg, Brigach and the Danube, is also sometimes known as the Danube. In the palace park a stone fountain was built, which symbolizes the beginning of the Danube. The length of Brigach and Breg is 2845 km, and from Breg sources in Furtwangen im Schwarzwald is 2888 km. The Danube flows through 10 European countries: Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine, to extend the delta into the Black Sea in Romania.
