PRONUNCIATION OF MANDORLA IN POLISH

mandorla

WHAT DOES MANDORLA MEAN IN POLISH?

mandorla

Mandorla, in painting and oval relief, more archaic than the sunburst halo, surrounding the figure of Jesus, but sometimes also the figure of Mary. It symbolizes and emphasizes the divine nature of the presented character. Mostly mandorlie are present at the performances of the Transfiguration and Savior in the Force. Mandorla is one of the oldest motifs in sacred art, most probably in Egypt, where monophysites dominated. At first, it was almond-shaped and white or white-blue. Then she began to take various shapes and colors and began to paint several mandoras at once, symbolizing various aspects of the divinity of the character.
