Peleus

Peleus - in Greek mythology King Ftyi of Thessaly, Argonaut, father of Achilles. He was the son of Ajakos and Endeis. Peleus and his brother Telamon killed him by the anger of his half-brother, Fokos son Pasmanthei, and was forced to flee Aegina. In Ftyi, Peleus was cleansed of the crime by Eurytion and married Antygon, the daughter of Eurytion. Peleus accidentally killed Eurytions while hunting for the Kalidon wild boar. The murder of Eurytion was cleansed in Jolkos by King Akcstos. Peleus was in love with Asterius's wife, Astydama, but he rejected her love. Angered, Astydamia sent a messenger to Antigone with the news that Peleus was to marry the daughter of Aztec, Sterope. Antigone on the news about it hanged. Dismissed Astydama blackened Peleus in front of her husband that she was in her honor. Aquasus took Peleus to hunt up Pelion and left the centaurs sleeping at the moment of attack. Earlier, however, he hid Peleus's wonderful sword, the gift of Hephaestus. Centaur Chiron helped Peleus to regain his sword and allowed him to escape. Peleus – w mitologii greckiej król Ftyi w Tesalii, Argonauta, ojciec Achillesa. Centaur Chiron pomógł jednak Peleusowi odzyskać miecz i umożliwił mu ucieczkę.
