Tereus

Tereus

Tereus - Greek mythology son of Ares, King Daulis of Fokida, husband of Prokne, father of Itysa. Tereus seduced his sister's wife, Filomela, and cut her tongue so that Prokne would not know of her betrayal. The phonograph was peplos, in which she placed the words-keys, through which Prokne learned about her sister's fate. Rushing, the sisters killed Itys - son Prokne and Tereus - and delivered his body in the dish Tereus. By listening to the supplications of the sisters, the gods helped them to avoid the wrath of Tereus, turning them into birds: Prokne was changed into a nightingale, Filomela into a swallow. Tereusa turned into a hoopoe. Tereus – w mitologii greckiej syn Aresa, król Daulis w Fokidzie, mąż Prokne, ojciec Itysa. Tereusa zamienili w dudka.
