Radon

Radon

Radon - chemical element of noble gases in the periodic system. It was discovered in 1900 by Friedrich Dorn. Initially called "emanation", the name "niton" was also proposed for him. Some of its isotopes carried their own names, derived from elements from which they were derived, such as 222Rn - "radon", 220Rn - "toron" or 219Rn - "actinium". It was only after 1923 that the name of the most stable isotope was adopted.
